hexagon

A hexagon is a regular polygon with six congruent sides and six congruent interior angles. Hexagons are one of three regular polygons that tile the plane (the others are the equilateral triangle and the square) and it does so with maximal efficiency, which is why honeycombs are made up of hexagonal cells.
